It works, pretty well actually, if you get lucky finding a game with low ping. though finding a game with more then 10 people is rare. usually about 1-2 games of 10 people. and 3 or 4 games with 4-6 people. the rest are 1-2 people and usually have passwords. that said, quite a few servers use bots to fill the battle,

yes, i'd say there are normally about 12-25 people on a competitive server at most points throughout the day. And there are more people on some other servers just there for fun. This game is definitely worth buying even on it's own.

It's entirely dependent on when EA decides to pull the plug or not, based off of how many players there are. Costs money to keep the servers online after all. The servers could go for another 10 years, or for 2 more years.

B: most people REALLY don't want battlefront 2 with a truck load of cosmetic/gameplay mods, they just wanna play battlefront 2 without an endless army of hackers and modders ruining it. It's possible to get on Battlefront 2 also and no one is ever playing that. For multiplayer games with such positive reviews you'd think there would be an active multiplayer scene.
