The Blood Elves draw upon the Light in the exact same way that the Humans and Dwarves and Draenei draw upon the Light. There is no difference between them (after BC). The Sunwell is infused with Light and any power can be taken from the Sunwell via Leylines. 1.Fel can be extremely powerful, and is easy to use in comparison. However, it carries the risk of tearing you apart or corrupting you. Some might become Warlocks out of desperation, but many others become Warlocks in a pursuit of power. Some do become Warlocks as its simply the next step in exploring the bounds of magic.
