Apr 30, 2017 · I found that the fuse is in the rear of the car, near the third row power outlet. Pulling out the 40A tailgate motor fuse effectively disables the power tailgate functionality; I just moved it to an unused slot in the fuse box. Although I do get a light on the dash saying "tailgate", this does solve the problem.
